Our JR red squad competed in the state championship on Friday and made it to the top 16. All three SR teams competed on Saturday, and we are thrilled to announce that our SR red squad emerged as State Champions! 🏆
A special shoutout to Jackson Parks and Cole Cureton for their outstanding performances in the Champion of Champions shootout, where Jackson was the runner-up and Cole placed 4th. Way to go, guys!
To top it all off, the team took home a $7,500 prize for first place, which the members will split for scholarship money. Congratulations to Cole Cureton, Hayden James, Slade Smith, Sam Sloan, and Jackson Parks. What a fantastic way to wrap up the season! 👏

Today Mr. Jerry Reichenbach came to the school because he was unable to make the Military Ball on Saturday. He brought 4 Awards for our school.
1) Konnor Powell was given the AFA Cadet Award for our unit
2) AR-20061 Unit - Westside High School was named as the "Arkansas AFJROTC Unit of the Year" this will make 6 years in a row.
3) TSgt. Mamula was named as the Air and Space Forces Association's - Chapter Teacher of the Year for STEM related topics
4) TSgt. Mamula was also named as the Air and Space Forces Association's - State Teacher of the Year for STEM related topics
The STEM topics students participated in were the AS300 Discovering Space, Drones, Cyber Patriot, Stellar Xplorers, and Rocketry.
It is an honor to be recognized and we are especially proud of the Cadets for another year of hard work.
