Arkansas Governor's Scholastic Honors Day:
Public and private high schools are encouraged to select two students in the senior class who best represent excellent academic achievement. Due to scheduling limitations, each high school can only select two (2) students to attend the event.
Westside High School's representative's for this years Governor's Honors Day were:

Come out for a wonderful night of music with the Westside 8th Grade Band and your State Champion Westside High School Concert Band. The 8th Grade Band will be featuring some fresh new music and the High School Band will be featuring tunes from their recent championship plus pieces that they have been working on for the last couple of weeks. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday in the FAC.


Westside High School Choir will be in concert tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Fine Arts Center. Come out and enjoy the Warriors sing songs from "Across the Decades".


Warrior Baseball will be playing in the regional tournament on Thursday to continue their season. Game time will be at 5:30 pm against Joe T. Robinson High School. The tournament will be held at Joe T Robinson High School, 21501 Cantrell Rd #10, Little Rock, AR.

ATTENTION Athletes and Parents: The WHS Athletic Booster Club will be hosting their Annual Sports Awards Ceremony on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 3pm in the Westside Fine Arts Center to celebrate the accomplishments of our Warrior Athletes. This event is for grades 7-12th. Dress Code will be Sunday Best.


The Lady Warrior Softball Team will be playing in the regional tournament on Thursday, May 4th at 5:30 p.m. against Clinton. The tournament will be held at
Joe T Robinson High School, 21501 Cantrell Rd #10, Little Rock, AR 72223.

Next Friday, May 5, we will be having our annual Sr day celebration at WHS. Please see the information in the link below with the schedule of events for the day. Please take note that the Sr Walk is a student only event. Parents are welcome to wait at the FAC for our students to return. We will try to follow the posted schedule as closely as possible. Attention parents of juniors:
We will be hosting a Junior Parent Information Night on Monday, May 8, at 6:00 p.m. in the high school library. We will be discussing what to expect in the senior year and the services we offer to help you and your students. We hope to see you there!

WHS students and parents,
This is just a reminder that we will have 9th and 10th grade ACT Aspire testing on campus on Thursday and Friday.
8th, 1tth, and 12th grade students will be doing virtual learning on these days. Those students should check their Google Classroom for assignments from their teachers.

Here at Westside, we have big school opportunities with your small school environment. School Choice is an option for anyone who lives outside of Westside Consolidated School District and would like their child to attend Westside Schools for the 2023-2024 school year.

This is just a reminder that ALL WHS students will attend school on campus on Wednesday.

Congratulations to Allie Robins for signing a letter of intent to play soccer and continue her education at Lyon College this fall. It is great to see the hard work of our students pay off!

This is a reminder that WHS will begin ACT Aspire testing tomorrow. 8th graders will be testing Monday and Tuesday. 11th and 12th graders will attend school on-site.
9th and 10th graders will be doing virtual learning from home. Please check your Google Classrooms for those assignments.
All 8th graders should charge their Chromebooks fully tonight as well so they are ready to be used in testing tomorrow.

FREE ATHLETIC PHYSICALS! All Westside athletes in grades 7th-12th are required to have a physical before participating in sports.
St. Bernards Sports Medicine will again provide the athletic physicals for our athletes free of charge! This years physicals will take place at St. Bernards Auditorium located at 505 East Washington, Jonesboro on Sunday, April 23, 2023. WHS athletes can arrive at 2:30 and Jr High will need to arrive at 2:45.

WHS Senior Night Information:
Senior night for Soccer, Track & Trap will be Monday, April 24th , 2023. The Girls Soccer & Girls Track ceremony will be before the games at 4:30 p.m. All participants and escorts for Girls Soccer and Girls Track will need to arrive by 4:15 p.m. at the High School Football Field. Sr Night will start at 4:30 p.m at the High School.
The Boys Soccer, Boys Track & Trap will be before the Boys Soccer game. All participants and escorts for Boys Soccer, Boys Track and Trap will need to arrive at 6:20 p.m. at the High School Football Field. Sr Night will start at 6:40pm, or following the girls game.


Srs,
Due to unforeseen circumstances, seniors will now return Chromebooks and checkout with the library during their English classes on April 25th and 26th. Students should bring their checkout forms, chargers, Chromebooks, library books, and if necessary, money to pay for any outstanding Chromebook or library fees at that time. Because checkout is earlier than originally planned, seniors who have not finished any coursework on their assigned day should return Chromebooks and library materials on May 1st.

WHS Band attended the ASBOA State Concert Band Contest-Assessment at Cabot High School today.




WHS students competed and volunteered at Special Olympics Track and Field events today at ASU.
