Showtimes: March 3, 4, 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Westside Fine Arts Center. Ticket prices are $3 for students and $5 for adults.
Congratulations to these 2022 All-State Band and Choir students! They are performing at the State Music Convention in Hot Springs this weekend.
Senior Samara Brogan made 3rd chair flute and principle piccolo in the 3rd All-State Band. Claire Walz made 6th chair Soprano II in the Mixed Choir, and Nicholas Bratten made 4th chair, Male Chorus, as a Bass 2. Nicholas also made 3rd chair French horn with the 2nd All-State Band. Congratulations on all of your hard work paying off!

The Senior High Quiz a bowl team competed in the NEA Co-Op tournament on Wednesday February 16. They placed third. Team members l-r are sophomore Dakota Roshto, senior Samara Brogan, sophomore Slade Smith, and sophomore Jackson Parks.

Need a dress for an upcoming prom or other formal event? The WHS Children's Volunteer Club (CVC) has a solution for you!
CVC will be hosting a Prom Pop-Up Shop & Bake Sale on Saturday, February 19, 2022 in the high school gym lobby from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Dress drop off will be Friday, February 18th from 5-8 p.m. in the gym lobby. There will be a $10 entry fee for your dress and 20% of your sale will benefit the Buy A Bed, Give A Bed Charity. The dress entry and sale is open to the public. Senior Girls & Boys Basketball District Tournament Brackets for February 14th through February 19th. The tournament will be held at Brookland High School. Come out and support our Warriors!
The Sr. High Girl’s and Boy’s basketball tournament will be this week at Brookland. The boys and girls both play on Monday, 2-14-22. The girls will play Blytheville at 4:00 pm. The boys will play Trumann at 8:30 pm. Good luck Warriors!
Westside High School counselor Julie Tubbs has been selected as the Northeast Region High School School Counselor of the Year!
She will now have the opportunity to represent Northeast Arkansas at the State Conference in the Summer and be considered for Arkansas High School Counselor of the Year and the overall School Counselor of the Year for the state. Congratulations Mrs. Tubbs!

Friday, February 11, 2022 - Sr Girls & Boys will play at home vs Pocahontas with a game time of 6:00 p.m. for the girls and the boys to follow. Basketball Senior Night Festivities will also take place tonight at 5:45 p.m.
Saturday, February 12, 2022 - Sr Boys will play a home game against Southside at 3:00 p.m.

We are pleased to announce that Mrs. Julie Tubbs (8-10 grade counselor at WHS) has been selected as a recipient of the Arisa Mental Health Champion Award. She is one of two counselors chosen across all of the 20 counties that Mid-South Health Systems serve in this region. The Arisa Mental Health Champion Award is given to a school counselor who partners, supports and works to help students access mental health services and represents the "better together" concept for helping students. We have GREAT counselors in the Westside School District and we are thrilled to have Mrs. Tubbs recognized with this honor.

The WHS Baseball Team will be hosting a chili supper tonight, February 8th, from 5-7pm in the HS Cafeteria. Chili Supper tickets will be sold at the door for $10. Come out and support our Warriors with a bowl of chili and a basketball game against the Valley View Blazers. (Game admission is not included in supper ticket)

February is "Kindness Month" for our Capturing Kids' Hearts process at WHS. Students will be doing character lessons in their Tribe periods over this month revolving around Kindness. Please see the CKH Family Newsletter for February and the 28 Day Kindness Challenge. These documents are family resources that can be used at home to promote our word of the month!

Last Wednesday, the WHS Bowling teams competed in the district bowling tournament in Cabot. The girls came in 10th place. Madison Scott got All-Conference and Sydney Pickering got Alternate! The boys won 1st place and Hunter Montgomery, Beau Malone, Mason Burris and Chase Schaffhauser got All-Conference! The boys will be competing in the state tournament at Hijinx on Wednesday, February 9th.
Way to go bowlers!!!
