Today at WHS, we held part 2 of our 23-24 ATLAS state testing reward program. After recently receiving growth scores for the state assessments taken last April, we were able to have our annual reward drawings today. We had a lot of students who showed growth who were eligible to win. Many students had multiple chances because they grew in multiple tested areas.
Today, we gave away several things. This included: Apple ear pods, an Apple iPad, a Nintendo Switch, and an Xbox S. We also had 10 winners who will receive a Westside shirt, 14 winners who will get a trip to Sonic, and 2 winners who will receive a 6 pack of Crumble Cookies.
We love rewarding our students for hard work. We also plan on doing this again before the end of school once the 24-25 ATLAS assessments take place.
Great job Warriors!!!

Reminder: Cheer tryouts begin TODAY at 3:30 in the elementary cafeteria, NOT TOMORROW. This is for students who will be in grades 8-12 next school year.

Today, the WHS Animal Science and Vet Science students had a great hands-on learning experience as they vaccinated, wormed, and ear-tagged some calves. A huge thank you to Levi Bonham and family for allowing us to work with your cattle—we truly appreciate the opportunity!
Only one calf had to make a second trip through the chute due to a minor counting error and a misplaced tag. That student is now proudly sporting the yellow ear tag as a reminder of the day’s lessons!

WHS teacher Mrs. Cheng and her Spanish 2 students had an exciting cultural experience at the Edgar Rene concert last Thursday at the Nettleton Performing Arts Center!
A special shoutout to Jackston Mallard, who was selected to participate in the Spanish tongue twister challenge and did an amazing job! 🌟👏
After the concert, the students enjoyed a delicious meal and explored Los Arcos Mexican store in Jonesboro, immersing themselves even more in Hispanic culture.
What a fun and educational day for our Warriors! ❤🤍
