Congratulations to sophomore Jackson Parks for being selected to participate in the statewide All- Star Quiz Bowl tournament. Only the top 100 players from all high schools in the state are invited to compete. Great job Jackson! 🎉🏆❤

This week Westside FFA members attended the 95th Arkansas FFA State Convention. Students enjoyed competing in leadership development events, learning about future career and educational paths, and making many new friends, who share the same corduroy jacket.🐐🌱🧥❤
WHS students had a fun day participating in track and field events at Valley View High School. It's a great day to be a Warrior! ❤
There will be a Football parent meeting for incoming 7th grade through 12 grade football athletes this Thursday, April 28th. This meeting will be in the high school gym at 6pm. We will discuss the upcoming red white game and needs for the upcoming season. 🏈

The track meet (Sr. High Arnold Relays) at Paragould are canceled for today. No make-up date will be scheduled.
We're excited to share the preliminary architectural drawings of the new addition to Westside High School. This new addition includes classrooms and a new cafeteria!

The soccer game for today vs Wynne has been cancelled and will be played tomorrow, Friday, April 22, 2022 at Westside with a 5:00 p.m. start time.
PINT SIZE HERE/HOPE begins with you . . . is the motto for the upcoming American Red Cross Blood Drive sponsored by the WHS National Honor Society on Monday, April 25th in the high school library, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Donation Goal: 35 units and if we collect enough units, a WHS senior will receive a scholarship! Plus, those who come to give blood will receive a $10 e-gift card to a merchant of choice and automatically be entered to win a new travel trailer camper that sleeps eight, powered by Suburban Propane.

The Westside Band Boosters is hosting a one-day Mattress Fundraiser on May 14th , from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. There will be over 25 beds on display for customers to try. The brand name mattresses are made to order, have full factory warranties, are available in all sizes, and are priced below retail. In addition to beds, there will also be luxury pillows and even adjustable power bases! Delivery & financing is available.

The WHS Athletic Booster Club will have a meeting on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 6pm in the high school cafeteria.
WHS/AFJROTC packed another 23,000+ meals today at the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas.
Dating back 5 years to the time we started this Community Service project, today cadets hit two huge milestones:
Over 2000 Hours donated!
Over 500,000 meals packed!
These cadets have gone above and beyond in demonstrating the Air Force Core Value of “Service Before Self”.

The baseball game scheduled for today vs Blytheville has been cancelled and will be played on Friday, April 22, 2022 at home. The game will be a Varsity Double Header with Senior Night Recognition.

Westside High School has selected Seniors Samara Brogan and Spencer Honeycutt for this year's representatives to the Governor's Scholastic Honors Day.
The Arkansas Department of Education is pleased to announce that the Governor's Scholastic Honors Day will be held May 7, 2022, at the Governor's Mansion in Little Rock.
Scholastic Honors Day recognizes Arkansas' best and brightest students. Students will meet the Governor as well as his wife and have pictures taken.
Selection Criteria:
Public and private high schools are encouraged to select two students in the senior class who best represent excellent academic achievement.
Due to scheduling limitations, each high school can only select two (2) students to attend the event. No exceptions.
A slideshow will be created honoring the selected students. The slides will include the student's photo, name, school and hometown.
