Project Care Transitions Job Fair will be happening on Wednesday, February 8th with several WHS students participating! Westside High School is proud to give this opportunity to our students and their future!
Senior night for Boys' and Girls' Basketball will be Friday, February 10, 2023. The ceremony will take place before the Sr. High Girls' game at 5:45 p.m. All participants and escorts will need to arrive by 5:30 p.m. at the High School Gym.
Senior basketball players will need to fill out the biography form and return it to your coach by Wednesday, February 8th.

What is Kindness?
Kindness is the ability and willingness to express care and compassion for others. Kindness is a choice to use our time, talent, and resources to better the lives of others and the world through genuine acts of love, compassion, generosity, and service.
Why focus on Kindness?
*Kindness boosts positive emotions. Acts of kindness create neural pathways that enhance feelings of well-being and the natural flow of feel-good endorphins and neurotransmitters.
*Kindness is self-replicating. When we perform an act of kindness, it is likely to encourage others to act in a similar way.
*Kindness reduces stress and anxiety. Kindness promotes positive relationships with other people. Anything that helps you to build bonds with other people helps decrease anxiety.
Kindness in Action:
*Celebrate small things. Start each day with Good Things as a class. Publicly and privately affirm kind and thoughtful actions and attitudes.
*Create opportunities for students to regularly affirm each other. Once a week, dedicate time for students to write notes of affirmation to classmates and school staff members.
*Model Kindness. Be mindful of body language, tone, and mindset. Kindness is learned by example!

Mrs. Lindsey Bowman and Mrs. Katie Spencer from the Polish Agency came to speak at today's Career Lunch and Learn. These Westside graduates returned to their alma mater to speak to students about marketing, advertising, graphic design, and media. Thank you, Mrs. Bowman and Mrs. Spencer, for taking time out of your busy schedule to come speak to our students.
Kindergarten and Pre-K registration has been scheduled for Westside Elementary School on March 6th - 8th! Kindergarten registration will be by appointment only. To schedule an appointment for your child, please call 870-336-9242. Pre-K registration will be from 8:00-2:30 on these dates. See flyers below for information required to fully enroll your child at Westside Elementary School.
WHS/AFJROTC Drill and Color Guard teams competed at the Malvern High School Army JROTC Drill Meet on Saturday.
Cadets took home 1st in Armed Drill and 2nd in the Female PT competition.

Westside FFA is hosting a supply drive for the NEA Humane Society. They will be collecting items until Feb. 22nd. Items can be dropped off at the Westside High School Office, or you can order items off of their Amazon wish list, and have them shipped directly to the school! Westside High School was just awarded @CollegeBoard's Female Diversity Award for achieving high female representation in AP Computer Science Principles. Female students who take #APCSP are more than five times as likely to major in computer science in college. Please see the link below for more information.

Saturday, March 11, 2023 held in the WHS Fine Arts Center - Registration now open and forms will be sent home with elementary students and middle and high school students can obtain a form through their school office. Pageant is open to Westside students only.

Congratulations to these students for their accomplishments at the Region 5 Concert Band auditions that were held at Paragould High School on Saturday.
These region concert bands will rehearse and perform this weekend at The Fowler Center at Arkansas State University. Nicholas, Hayden, Allison, Blake, Camdyn, and Carson have also automatically qualified to audition for the state concert bands. They will audition Feb 4th. on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas.
